Growing up physically in these landscapes crisscrossed with stones and bricks means experiencing both the depth of an avenue and the overwhelming height of a building. I try to convey these sensations by playing with this double scale, human and architectural, making the city dance.

Whether they’re frozen silhouettes or shadows in motion, I always try to include people in my scenes. They make my images lively and help us scale the volumes of the environment. The way they stand or move really shapes the overall geometry and graphics of a composition.

Where the leaves still mostly carpet the landscape, we, as human beings, feel very small. Far from our urban lives, crossing these territories demands a certain restraint. This is why, unlike the city, I rarely experience these environments through my lens.
